CASE STUDY
LEADING G08 UNIVERSITY IN AUSTRALIA
Effective feedback has benefits for the giver, the receiver, and the Institution
Emojot tied up with a leading Go8 University in
Australia to help supplement existing surveys of
the students’ experience to combat the university’s
inherent problems in terms of their ‘Teaching &
Evaluation Methodology’ . The university is a public
university in South Australia and considered the
third-oldest university in the country. In addition,
It operates several associated and independent
research institutes and groups, such as the South
Australian Health and Medical Research Institute
(SAHMRI).
COMPANY SUMMARY
The university which considers evaluation as a
central component of professional development,
course/program development in the quality
assurance process was challenged with the inability
to supplement existing surveys of the student
experience in teaching and learning to address
its inherent problems by using their Student
Experience of Learning and Teaching (SELT) system.
The eectiveness of the current system became
a signicant concern, given that this system is the
key institutional mechanism by which the university
invites feedback from students on their learning
experience at course level and plays a central role in
evaluation and teaching.
THE CHALLENGE
Create interactive, software-based emotion sensors that use
emojis relevant to your specic context. Then share these emotion
sensors via email, sms, any social media channel to engage with your
customers/employees/audience.
Eective feedback, both positive
and negative, is very helpful. This is
the type of feedback that contains
valuable information that will facilitate
important decisions and create a
pathway for improvement and new
development.
TEACHING MATERIAL - Videos where an Emojot question is
featured and students are required to provide feedback via emoting.
Alternatively, a lecturer could tag a question in relation to a specic
context as the lecture moves on.
STUDENT PITCHES evaluated by each classroom.
EXHIBITION-VISITOR EVALUATION
Visitors who are walking by can emote while using their mobile
phones/tablets, anywhere at any given time. The situation was
controlled and validated by the point of experience via Emojot’s
platform.
